LifeSpan Pharmacy is a privately owned and operated long-term care pharmacy that provides pharmaceutical products to residents in a variety of communities throughout Indiana. Pharmacy Technician Full-time position available
Essential Job Description:
- The purpose of this position is to dispense and package prescription drugs for review by a pharmacist.
- Dispenses medication while observing proper handling precaution in the proper container for each facility.
- Fills daily drug orders accurately and efficiently in a timely manner, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Prepares compounding medications as instructed.
- Generates labels and/or delivery receipts.
- Prepares appropriate logs for tracking monthly accuracy.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
Requirements:
- Indiana State License and/or National Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
- Prior I.V. admixture exp a plus.
- Day shift and Mid-shift hours.
- Requires a weekend and holiday rotation.
Prescription Order Entry Full-time position available
Essential Job Description:
- Data Entry of new and refill prescription orders.
- Research, communicate and follow-up with facility regarding processing issues.
- Minimum data entry speed is 45 orders per hour. Identifies orders that cannot be processed due to coverage issues, missing information or inability to read/understand.
- Answers incoming calls from nursing facility staff, doctor’s offices and patients.
Requirements:
- This position requires the ability to type 40+ words per minute with accuracy and a high attention to detail.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification and/or Indiana Pharmacy Technician licensure required.
- 1-2 years direct work experience in health related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Understanding of Medicare/Medicaid/Insurance Pay types, medical terminology and brand/generic medications.
- Evening Shifts 12:30pm-9:30pm and 2:30pm-11:30pm
- Requires a weekend and holiday rotation.
Staff Pharmacist Full-time position available
Essential Job Description:
- Provides phone consultation and answers questions regarding drugs and their use.
- Reviews, receives/verifies all new patient orders and documents the same on the respective order form.
- Processes and checks all medications, supplies and equipment prior to dispensing from the pharmacy.
- Maintains pharmacy records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify and implement appropriate formulary substitutions.
Requirements:
- Indiana State Pharmacist License
- Previous long-term care experience a plus
- Flexibility to work a weekend and holiday rotation
